I’d visited Dubai in particular to see the Dubai Expo 2020 and then dedicated some time for sightseeing.
Here is my 19 hours itinerary on how I spent my time in Dubai, UAE that perhaps could be helpful with planning your visit as well! Obviously you won’t be able to see the Expo when you visit, but you can have an idea on how it went down in Dubai so you can explore it in another country. The Expo happens every 5 years.
March 20, 2022
🔶Flew into Dubai International Airport at 7:50 AM.

🔷 Thanks for the complimentary pass @emirates!
So the Expo 2020 Dubai included 190 Pavilion Countries that’s aiming to educate the public like myself through “Connecting Minds, Creating the Future”….
There were four countries I’d expressed interest in and explored each about 2 hours or so. On this platform, I’ll only give recaps of the 3 out of 4 countries that embraced me in a meaningful way.
Lets go!!…😛
This is the 1st time this Global Expo was held in an Arab Country.
🔶I’d explored the Belarus 🇧🇾 Pavilion which allowed me to connect to the forest/nature and technology. Such a brilliant idea! I’m all for a sustainable future. I had fun participating with the natives of Belarus in this space.
🔷So Austria 🇦🇹 Pavilion was super inquisitive; it’s impressive how they combined Arab and Austrian best practices…I like how it allowed me to exercise all my 5 senses in the middle of the cone…it was a great way for me to engaged with technology and the Austrian culture…
🔶Guyana 🇬🇾 Pavilion my birth country. I got a bit emotional seeing my birth country doing it’s stuff at Dubai’s Expo. Guyana is known for its natural resources, massive energy supply chain and now oil. I’m pretty sure Guyana is going to be the next Dubai when it comes to oil. It just needs a way to package this stuff…

🔷Story telling please; so when I was a young girl I used to ride the J train from Brooklyn to Manhattan in NYC with my grandfather. And that was our way of exploring the city together.
So when I was in Dubai, I’d decided to explore the city by riding on a train. I’d wanted to find a sweet way to enjoy my time in Dubai as well as honor my beautiful memories I’d had with my grandfather. Highly recommend doing this as well if you are exploring Dubai on limited time.
🔶And I made it to the largest mall in the world well so I heard. Darn, it felt so sweet. This place is massive yarrr!
🔷So they have this gigantic underground zoo and aquarium that I’d especially visited so I could feed, learn and mingle with the penguins. It was such a marvelous experience. It was freezing in the penguin’s home so they’d gave us a coat to warm up in.

🔶Like WTH, they have a human waterfall with human statues diving into it. If you look/stare too long at one of the human statue it disappears….illusion was literally playing with me.
🔷Had some delicious biryani for an early dinner in the dinning section in the mall; geez…so many options you’ll find at the mall.
🔶 And I stayed at an inexpensive hotel with a nice view of the city, awesome pool, delicious restaurant and two night clubs in it. Too bad I only stayed for a few hours. The hotel’s name is Chelsea Plaza and its about 10 minutes or so from the airport.

Hopeful this blog gives you a taste of what the beautiful city of Dubai City is all about.
