Day trip from Copenhagen, Denmark to Lund & Malmo, Sweden Itinerary

When I’d visited Copenhagen, Denmark I’d planned my trip in such a way that’ll allowed me a full day to explore Lund & Malmo, Sweden.

Here is my day trip itinerary on how I spent my time in Lund & Malmo, Sweden that perhaps could be helpful with planning your visit as well!

September 27, 2022:

I’d booked my tour through Viator that’d cost me around $120 USD, but honestly it was so worth it cause the cost of transportation is extremely expensive in Copenhagen.

Let’s just say they don’t have Uber and it’s so pricey to travel by cabs unless you are riding a bicycle or walking.

The best way to access Lund is by taking the ferry ⛴. And based on conversations I’d had with other world travelers; they’d agreed that it’s easier to visit Malmo by train since it’s about 30 minutes or so from Copenhagen’s central train station.

But if you travel with a tour through Viator it will be easier to manage this effort considering everything is taken care for you.

What I’d did in Lund, Sweden ?

📍 Lund Cathedral (I’d especially wanted to stared at the astronomical clock from 1380 (there are like 5 of them in the world))

Lund Cathedral

📍 Kulturen Museum (Silly me explored the rosy garden first before venturing out to the exhibit to learn more about the Lund Peninsula)

Kulturen Museum

📍Love Coffee Roasters Cafe (Enjoyed some cappuccino with like this healthiest sandwich)

What I’d did in Malmo, Sweden ?

📍 Lilla Torg (Malmo’s prettiest and busiest square where you can observe the local Swedish as they go about their daily business as usual)

Lilla Torg

📍 Biograf Spegeln (Did my own beer and chocolate tasting…ummh I wanted to go back to the Iron Age Era..)

Swedish Beer

📍 Turning Torso (The World’s 1st twisted skyscraper and the tallest building in Scandinavia)

FYI, Scandinavia is made up of three countries which are Denmark, Sweden & Norway.

I’d also like to stressed that Sweden has its own currency so you cannot use Danish Krone there.

Most of the restaurants accept only credit or debit cards (Visa or Mastercard)…seem like these things are universal.

I’d also found out that a lot of the Danish relocated from Copenhagen, Denmark to Malmo, Sweden cause it’s more affordable and spacious to live in Sweden as opposed to Denmark. And plus it’s easy to commute between the two cities either through train or driving.

A lot of folks living in Malmo, Sweden work in Copenhagen, Denmark. Go figure although Copenhagen is an expensive city, I’d heard the jobs there pay their workers very well. Now that’s a plus.

Thank you for virtually exploring with me
