🔶I also saw “The Mosque of the Three Doors.” It holds a special place in the Islamic architecture. I was not allowed inside cause I’m a non Muslim.

⁉️Why did I visit?

🔷For personal religious reasons

🔶And I wanted to stand on the platform in “The Great Mosque of Kairouan” that faces Mecca.

⁉️Why did I visit…

🔶This museum used to be the Beylical Palace

🔷Have the biggest collection of Mosaics in the world

🔶Wanted to get up, close and personal with the Roman African Mosaics (Roman, Islam and Christianity influences)

🔷Wanted to taste the fresh Tunisian lemonade in the cafe

📍Uthina/Oudna

🔶This part of my trip was not planned. It just happened that my Berber Moroccan friend and I met this local Tunisian taxi driver, who used to be a tour guide. He convinced us to go explore Uthina/Oudna with him.

🔷Uthina/Oudna is an African Roman Architecture site

🔶It’s about 30 minutes each way from Central Tunis.

Day 6: September 20, 2023 in📍Tunis

🔷Ended my trip by spending a few hours in the old Medina in Tunis. It’s the busiest and authentic spot to shop, mingle with the locals and get lost.

Tunis Medina

🔶Go into the coolest rug store, walk up the steps and enjoy this cafe with a sweet view behind the Zitouna Mosque.

🔷My journey throughout Tunisia was such a grand experience. I personally think it’s a great country to visit in North Africa that’s filled with rich culture, historical sites, star war villages and the most welcoming people.
