3 Days in Kansas City (USA) Itinerary

I’m absolutely so ecstatic to share my 3 days adventure in Kansas City, Missouri and Kansas.

Kansas City is located in both the states of Missouri and Kansas. Apparently, the state line and the Missouri River separates the two states.

Day 1: February 17, 2024 in📍Kansas City, Missouri

⚪️Stayed 2 nights at Harrah’s Kansas City Hotel and Casino

⚪️Kansas City is known for its vivid diverse cultural jazz music played in many jazz clubs scattered in both states.

⚪️Had the opportunity to see my high school music professor performed at📍Black Dolphin.

Day 2: February 18, 2024

⁉️What did I do in Kansas?

⚪️Kansas City is also known for its brilliant and curious museums. So I spent most of my day treasure hunting and empowered to wonder around with inquisitive thoughts in the below museums:

⚪️Fancy the Egyptian and Picasso exhibits at📍Nelson Atkins Museum of Art.

⚪️Explored the📍World War 1 Museum. The story telling was relatively impressive.

⚪️Thoroughly enjoyed Afghanistan/Canadian Artist Hangama Amiri and Indian Artist Spandita Malik artwork at the📍Kemper Museum of Contemporary work. Appreciate learning about these culture.

⚪️Had Barbecue chicken at📍Joe’s restaurant located in a gas station (Kansas). The best! Kansas City is known for their BBQ.

Day 3: February 19, 2024 in📍Kansas City, Missouri

⚪️That time I had a seat with history at📍Union Station.

⚪️This historical station stories takes us through the 100-year history of Union Station through artifacts, photos and interactive information screens.

⚪️Union Station memories include anticipating the arrival of trains filled with loved ones.

⚪️Experienced the tearful farewells to soldiers, family and friends as they headed out across America for World War 1.

⚪️Appreciated being able to relived the stories of Ernest Hemingway and Walt Disney as they once upon a time used to board these trains at Union Station.

⚪️Pardon my weirdness, but I had deep thoughts on Kansas City Massacre held here in 1930s; it’s related to convicted bank robber Frank Nash.

⚪️Explored the many happening restaurants.

⚪️Took the Street Cart to📍Steamboat Arabia Museum (this ship sank in the Missouri River about 132 years ago).

Steamboat Arabia Museum

⚪️In 1856, the Arabia was sailing in the Missouri River, but hit a log and sank.

⚪️The passengers and crew survived, but the 200-ton frontier cargo disappeared in the river.

⚪️Trade used to occur along the Missouri River, where Steamboats were critical to its success, supplying both domestic and foreign goods to the different companies.

⚪️Sharing a few treasures recovered from the Arabia’s cargo in 1988.

Overall I had a great time exploring Kansas City. The culture is so diverse and rich for a short weekend getaway.
