If you find yourself in Rome, Italy 🇮🇹; then I recommend visiting Vatican City 🇻🇦. There is so much to do in this country, but considering my parents and I visited on a Sunday; the museum and garden were closed. However, we did visited a few of the main point of interest that satisfied our curiosity.
Day 1: June 23, 2024 in📍Vatican City
⚪️Vatican City is the smallest independent nation/ country by population and size in the world 🌎
➡️It’s about 15 minutes by train from Central Rome/Roma
➡️This is where the Pope reside and the Vatican is consider the center of Catholicism
⁉️What did we see in Vatican City
⚪️St. Peter’s Square; it was named after Saint Peters (a messenger of Jesus and whom the Catholics consider the first Pope)
➡️The first thing we noticed in the square was the Obelisk – it’s an Egyptian obelisk that was brought from📍Alexandria, Egypt to educate the Romans

⚪️After waiting on line for about 2 hours; we entered St. Peter’s Basilica

➡️This is the largest church in the Catholic world & the universal headquarter of the Catholic Church

➡️We saw the Swiss Guards in the Basilica; they protect the Pope

➡️The art work in the Basilica is the greatest art I’ve ever laid eyes on
⚪️We ended our day in this small nation by devouring the most authentic pasta and drinks at one of the local restaurants
