I’m absolutely so excited to share my 7 days adventure with my parents in Rome, Florence, Venice and Burano – Italy 🇮🇹.
Day 1: June 22, 2024 in📍Rome
⚪️We made it in time to have dinner at one of the 8,000 restaurants in Roma/Rome.

⚪️We had delicious food (fish, chicken cutlet & pork) and washed it down with some tasty beverages. Finally introduced my dad to Aperol Spritz – Italy’s famous drink.
⚪️Us youngsters stayed out latish considering our hotel was 2 seconds away.
⚪️We stayed three nights at Gioberti Hotel (Located in the heart of Roma & 2 minutes walking distance from Roma Termini; this is the main railroad station in Rome).
Day 2: June 23, 2024 in📍Rome
⚪️ My parents and I had a moment at the Trevi Fountain
➡️It’s the world’s famous fountain that is still fed from an ancient Roman aqueduct (water source)
➡️There is a myth that the soldiers in the Roman Empire were thirsty and a young lady led them to this fountain

➡️It’s a tradition to toss a coin or two in the fountain and make wishes y’all
⚪️That time I laid my inquisitive eyes on the Roman Colosseum
➡️It’s the largest amphitheater (stadium) in the world
➡️7 wonders of the world

➡️Julius Caesar never entered it y’all
➡️Here is where the Gladiators…Ummh OMG!!!
➡️I appreciated its exterior beauty from the south side cause this part was collapsed due to a brutal earthquake
➡️Thought it was meaningful how the Romans repurposed the fallen limestones to build hospitals, schools and other historical places in Rome
➡️So it has a twin in📍El Jem, Tunisia – North Africa
Day 3: June 24, 2024 in📍Florence
⚪️Day trip in Florence went like this y’all
➡️My parents and I took the high speed train from Roma/Rome’s Termini terminal operated by Italo.
➡️The ride was about 2 hours and I thought it was remarkable how these trains navigates on the tracks without tilting considering Italy is geographically shaped like a boot

⚪️We ate a lot; sipped on refreshing drinks (combination of alcoholic and non alcoholic)
⚪️We also visited📍Santa Maria del Fiore (aka as Duomo) dominates the city; you can’t miss its Renaissance exterior beauty

⚪️📍Arno River and appreciated the view of the famous along with the Ponte Vecchio bridge

⚪️Its a must to visit Piazza della Signorina square is packed with museums, Roman statues, art, restaurants and so much history….
Day 4: June 25, 2024📍Venice
⚪️Once upon a time in Venice y’all
⚪️My parents and I took the high speed train from Roma/Rome’s Termini terminal operated by Italo.
➡️The ride was about 4.5 hours.
➡️Then we took a private water taxi from the train station into Venice; like there is no cars and buses on the island..

📍Stayed four nights at📍Hotel San Moisè (located in the center of Venice)
⚪️Ate way too much…we finally tried the legit classical Chianti wine for dinner….

Day 5: June 26, 2024 in 📍Venice
⚪️It’s such vibe to think Venice was once a muddy lagoon (Result of Ice Age water) built on millions of wooden poles (salt water & mud does not damage wood cause of no exposure to air)….

⚪️My parents and I admired & appreciated the beauty of📍St. Mark’s Basilica;📍Museo Correr;📍Archaeological Museum;📍Doge’s Palace & a couple of the local restaurants…

⚪️We were totally enlightened by the history, transformation, resourcefulness and perseverance of the Venetians…
Day 6: June 27, 2024 in📍Venice
⚪️ …riding in an authentic Venetian gondola is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity and can only happen in Venice, Italy…

➡️my parents and I started our journey in one of these traditional beauty in the back canals…our experiences felt like we were in a maze trying to test our cognitive mapping skillsets…
➡️When in Venice… there is Gelato for breakfast?
➡️When in Venice…there is Pizza for lunch?
➡️When in Venice…there is tiramisu for dinner?
Day 7: June 28, 2024 in📍Venice
⚪️On our last day in Venice; my parents and I took a day trip to📍Burano Island

➡️Its an island located about one hour or so from Central Venice by a local ferry
➡️What attracts us is all the colorful homes clearly painted one by one with the brightest colors
➡️It reminds me of the colorful homes l’d visited in📍Chefchaouen, Morocco,📍Havana, Cuba, 📍Copenhagen, Denmark and📍Guatapé, Colombia
➡️And I noticed one common theme as to why these houses were painted in such vibrant colors…it has to do with the ease of identification after major storms or foggy weather as the locals and/or fishermen make their way home to their family…
