6 Days in Costa Rica Itinerary

I’m absolutely so ecstatic to start sharing my 6 days of adventure in Costa Rica 🇨🇷; this volcanic & nature vibe Central American country

Day 1: September 24, 2024

➡️Flew with @avianca airline from El Salvador to San Jose (1.5 hour)

➡️Traveled during rainy season so flights & hotels were so affordable

➡️Stayed 5 nights at📍Isla Verde hotel; located about 15 minutes via Uber from downtown San Jose

➡️Enjoyed the authentic Costa Rican breakfast

Day 2: September 25, 2024

⚪️Took a half day free walking tour with Jules from @guruwalk. He is from Philadelphia, USA 🇺🇸 now residing with his family in📍San Jose

➡️Checked out a local supermarket; where we had fresh coconut 🥥 water; lady finger bananas & saw the locals making tortilla

➡️Strolled through an artificial park

➡️Spotted a piece of the Berlin Wall

Day 3: September 26, 2024

✅ Made it to Poás Volcano 🌋

➡️It’s the largest active crater in the world

➡️I just stood there and enjoyed it all

➡️Nature’s raw power is superb!

“It is life, I think, to watch the water. A man can learn so many things.” ― Nicholas Sparks

➡️Enjoyed hiking behind 📍La Paz’s waterfall in Costa Rica 🇨🇷; ummmh not as high as La Paz’s city in Bolivia 🇧🇴

La Paz’s Waterfall

➡️Devoured fresh coconut water served by a street vendor

➡️Fell in love with the hiking trail to El Congo’s waterfall

➡️Devoured an authentic Costa Rican lunch and drank lots of fresh coffee served on a coffee plantation

Rosa from the Coffee Plantation

Day 4: September 27, 2024

➡️The hike up to📍Irazú Volcano 🌋 was a bit challenging cause it’s 10,000 feet above sea level. The air becomes thinner and the temperature drops significantly…it was so flipping cold….

Irazú Volcano

➡️This is the tallest active volcano in Costa Rica with such majestic beautiful scenery.

➡️Walking on the crater is like taking a walk on the moon while the mist in the air manipulate your breathing rhythm…

➡️It’s a place to practice solitude…

“Pura Vida” (Pure Life/Simple Life) as the Costa Ricans would say….

➡️📍Jardín Botánico Lankester is a must for garden lovers..it’s filled with exotic plants/flowers and cactus. And it’s used as a research center for the University of Costa Rica

Jardín Botánico Lankester

➡️📍La Casona del Cafetal is a lake front restaurant & hotel located on a coffee plantation…had mango salad & an authentic Costa Rican lunch (it was my first time trying squash in Central America). And washed it down with fresh coffee while enjoying the view…

Day 5: September 28, 2024

⚪️Had a kuchh kuchh hota hai moment in the Rain Forest….🌳 (something happened) 👇🏾

➡️Zipline with a group of friends I’d met from Uttar Pradesh, India 🇮🇳

Zip-line in the Rain Forest

➡️We tackled a total of 17 ziplines and 6 leap of faith

➡️The Adrenaline rush was wild!

➡️Had the Rainforest Adventure with a German scientist via the Aerial tram. Felt as though I was flying over treetops with a glamorous view. Loved the butterfly garden and frog/lizard exhibition. The rainforest is the most chaotic bio- diverse atmosphere with such unique insects and plants that are constantly competing/battling for survival…

Day 6: September 29, 2024

➡️Visited📍Banco Central de Costa Rica Museum was intriguing. Think we can all relate to the good old Still Banks (piggy banks) and old fashioned way of saving…
