Weekend in Houston, Texas Itinerary

Day 1: February 20, 2026

Landed in Houston via Spirit – chill vibes; had a hip and restful night at Moxy Downtown.

Loved the city view from Houston’s tallest = pure glam.

Yummy dinner in the Mahatma Gandhi District: lamb vindaloo, basmati, masala tea. Chef even sent me home with gulab jamun. Houston, I’m smitten!

Day 2: February 21, 2026

Visited the Eternal Gandhi Museum in Houston, Texas; the only one of its kind in the Western Hemisphere to explore Gandhi’s legacy and Indian heritage.

🤔Curious to connect it to my roots from Guyana 🇬🇾 (formerly known as British Guiana) in South America, where my ancestors were brought by the British from India 🇮🇳. Felt rich in history.

Left inspired by his message of peace, resilience, gentleness, and leadership. Definitely worth a visit.

Grateful for the invitation to Museum of Fine Art, Houston to experience “Frida: The Making of an Icon.” 🎨

Museum of Fine Art

This powerful exhibition explores how Frida Kahlo shaped her identity through her art, fashion, culture, and fearless self-expression. From her self-portraits to her iconic style, Frida’s work tells deeply personal stories that continue to inspire generations of artists and admirers alike.

Excited to continue the journey with the next part of the series in Madrid, Spain!
