Are you a history buff?! Great! Then you have to visit Asheville, North Carolina then make your way to see the Biltmore Estate.
The Biltmore Estate is the largest privately owned house/estate in the USA. And it belonged to George Washington Vanderbilt.
Here is my 3 days itinerary in Asheville and Biltmore Village in North Carolina that may help you with planning your trip.

Day 1: February 13, 2021
🔶Flew into Asheville, North Carolina and used my Expedia points to stay at the Double Tree by Hilton in Biltmore Village. I was hoping to run into one of George Vanderbilt’s relative. Lol!
🔷Explored Battery Park Book Exchange and Champagne Bar bookstore. So if you are a book nerd like me you will enjoy getting lost between old second hand books while sipping on champagne. I invested 5 hours here. Located in downtown Asheville!!
🔶Ended the evening getting a taste of Asheville’s Art museum. I’d did a collaboration with a fellow solo traveler in the states.
🔷Because I used a chunk of my Day 1 budget having expensive champagne and buying tons of books I’d settled for TGI Friday’s for dinner.
Day 2: February 14, 2021
🔶Literally went to Biltmore Village to visit the Biltmore’s Estate. It’s the largest house privately owned in the USA. It was George Washington Vanderbilt’s home. He was a seasoned traveler so he wanted a place in the USA to keep him in check when he was away from Europe.
🔷There are over 250 rooms here at the Biltmore Estate. I’d highly recommend doing an audio tour so you can get interesting facts as you tour.
🔶My two favorite rooms were the library and tapestry. George collected books in different languages from all over the world. He hand picked these books. And he had close friends that were avid readers as well. I would have love to be a fly on the wall & listen into their discussion. Here you can find one of the oldest European tapestry left in the world – The Triumph of Faith. If you look on the upper left hand side of the tapestry you can find an angel climbing into heaven.
🔷At the Estate you can also go on a hiking trail or just admire the blue ridge mountain from the balcony. I did just about both.

🔶 There is also a garden and conservatory you can scope out. Lovely orchids in the conservatory.
🔷Definitely visit the Biltmore Winery they have the finest wine. Too bad I couldn’t do the free wine tasting, but I did treated myself to a glass of Rose and high end dinner at Social Village.
Day 3: February 15, 2021
🔶Had a delicious breakfast at the Doubletree by Hilton in the Biltmore Village. If you pay an extra $14 you’ll be able to explore the yummy omelette station.
🔷Since it was my last few hours in Biltmore Village I took it easy before I uber it back to the airport. FYI, Asheville Regional airport is fairly small but chill.
Overall, I personally think Asheville and Biltmore Village in North Carolina is a fabulous city to visit especially the Biltmore Estate. And I also recommend scoping out the Blue Ridge Mountains/Parkway.
