If you find yourself in the USA šŗšø, then Iād recommend visiting the Potato state, hence Idaho.
I had the opportunity to visit Boise, Idaho and had such a great time touring this gorgeous city. There is so much to do and see in the heart of Boise – the capital of Idaho.
Here is my 3 days itinerary on how I spent my time in Boise, Idaho that perhaps could be helpful with planning your visit as well!

Day 1: August 13, 2021
š¶Flew into Boise on August 13, 2021 at 2:30 PM.
š·Stayed at the the Hampton Innās Hotel – located in Downtown Boise. Itās walking distance to literally everything.
š¶Visited the Basque Museum located on the Basque block. Itās the only Basque Museum/Community located in the USA outside of the Basque Country. The Basque Country is a piece of land located on the border of Spain and France.
š·Had lunch at the Basque Market. Met an energetic, business owner and knowledgeable young lady whose grandfather was from the Basque Country. Her grandfather arrived in Ellis Island in 1932 and was then tagged to be a shepherd. He lived and and worked in Boise, Idaho. He eventually reached a point where he opened up the Basque Market. They served excellent tapas, paella and much more.
š¶Ended the evening at the Freak Alley Gallery in Boise, Downtown. Itās free and of course a great atmosphere to see street art.

Day 2: August 14, 2021
š¶ Took an Active Urban Boiseās Morning tour to Camelās Back Park.
– Hiked on one of the trail and enjoyed the sunrise.
– We passed through the Boise Union Pacific Depot – one of the oldest railroad in Boise.
– My tour guide Kelly was fabulous.
š·So I donāt eat bacon, but I was like what the heck. Had bacon shots at this Bacon restaurant in Downtown, Boise.
š¶Went to Idaho State Capitol. You can explore at your leisure. Keep in mind that they are closed on Sundays.
š·Visited the Boise Art Museum. And I was able to see Guyanese Born Suchitra Mattaiās art display. This was a wowed moment cause this was my 1st time seeing and engaging with a fellow Guyanese artistās work. It was breathtaking to see someone from my Birth Country Guyana create such powerful art that incorporates our Indian heritage.
š¶Visited the Idaho State Museum and learned a lot about the different Native American tribes and of course potatoes.
š·Ended the evening by having Pad Thai at PF Changās restaurant right in the middle of Boise, Idaho.

Day 3: August 15, 2021
š¶Took an early morning stroll on the Boise River Greenbelt. This place is a must do considering itās located in the heart of Downtown Boise. A lot of folks float in the Boise River in the summer months!
š·Idaho is the known as the potato state in America. Iād satisfied my potato craving by having some delicious purple potato french fries and a fried vegan burger at Boise Fry restaurant located in the heart of Downtown Boise.
š¶Spent the afternoon at the Idahoās Botanical Garden. Itās such a massive garden and a great way to connect with nature. The scenery was lovely!
š·And if you appreciate plays especially Shakespeareās work then Iād recommend going to the Idahoās Shakespeare Festival – where I saw the Tempest. Omghosh! The show played from 7PM through 10PM and it left me in amazement.
š¶Ended the evening at Solid Restaurant. Itās this low key bar/restaurant with a gigantic patio located in the heart of Boise. They usually have live bands and happy hour until midnights
