Are you a lighthouse and lobsters wanderlust?! Great! Then Portland, Maine is the place for you to visit especially in the summer months.

Here is my 4 days itinerary in Portland, Maine that may help you with planning your trip.
Day 1: July 20, 2020:
🔶Stayed 3 nights/4 days at the Westin Portland Harbourview – located in Old Port of Portland.
🔷Had a delicious lobster roll and white Allagash at Lobster at Portland Lobster & Co. on the water for lunch.
🔶Had a Maitai at Central Provisions located in the heart of the Harbor. It reminds me of Stone Street in NYC with the cobble stones and European feel.
🔷Took a sunset cruise around the harbor to get a feeling of the city and admire the lighthouses from the water. Also it was a great idea to cool off since it was 100 degrees.
🔶Had gorgeous gelato (a mixture of chunky chocolate and caramel) at Gorgeous Gelato – Portland
🔷Enjoyed room services for dinner where I ordered vegetable & Maine potato Rohan Josh curry. I loved to taste a bit of Indian food in each city I visit.
🔶Ended the evening watching the sunset from my hotel room. I was upgraded to a room with a city view!

Day 2: July 21, 2020
🔶Literally came to Portland, Maine to do lighthouses hopping. I was able to get close and personal with 3 lighthouses:
~ Portland Head Light (most photographed lighthouse in America). And I had a lobster roll with curry mayo and a Maine root beer from one of the local food truck.
~Portland Breakwater Lighthouse (Bug Light)
~ Spring Point Ledge Lighthouse
🔷Casco Bay Area is made up of a bunch of islands. So I took the ferry to Peaks Island to scope out the cafes and bars but they were closed due to Covid-19.
🔶Portland is known for their breweries; I thought I would support one of the local brewery – Rising Tide where I had a flight. My favorite was their blueberry beer…after all Portland is known for blueberries. Also tasted some spicy Mexican corns.
🔷Enjoyed the sunset from my room again
🔶Ended the evening having a delicious Mexican meal at Tasco Escobarr. Actually tried their fried chicken tacos. I had these when I was in Scottsdale, Arizona some time back. And also washed it down with an iced vodka coffee.

Day 3: July 22, 2020
🔶Observed Fort Gorges from the water as we passed through Casco bay. I heard the only way to get to the Fort is by canoeing or with a boat.
🔷Went lobster catching/fishing and learned a lot about lobsters with Lucky Catch Cruises. I’d contributed to the team effort and also caught a male lobster and named him Larry before I released him back into the water. This tour was just for educational purposes.
🔶Invested two hours at Portland Museum of Art; I really was taken by all the art pieces in this museum and really don’t have a favorite. Although I did notice most of the artists here were from NYC.
🔷Enjoyed cocktails such as Aviation and Hemingway’s Daiquiri and Mac and cheese at CBG Bar and Grill located in Old Port
🔶Had Thai takeout from Mi Sen Noodle Bar

Day 4: July 23, 2020
🔶Had to get donuts from Holy Donuts; they are known for their donuts made out of potato.
~Tried their chocolate sea salt and blueberry donuts. Yum Yum!!!
🔷Highly recommend staying at “The Westin Portland Harbourview” located in the heart of Old Port which is walking distance to everything or a quick Uber ride.

Overall, I personally think Portland, Maine is a fabulous city to visit especially with family. It’s gorgeous with so much to do. It’s pretty safe if you are in the heart of the city….however always be cautious and aware of your surrounding. I hope this blog was helpful and please reach out if you have any questions.
