NYC → London → Prague
Day 1: July 3, 2026
Old Town Prague had me at that classic European charm.✨
Took the tram to my hotel and looked forward to spending a night at the ibis.

After brunch Siddharta Cafe Prague, I set out on a special mission: searching for Mama Shiwkumar’s pen pal friend from the early 1960s – back when the Czech Republic was Czechoslovakia and Guyana was British Guiana.

A reminder of how connections can span continents and generations.
A relaxing evening in Prague. 🎷 Took a jazz boat cruise, enjoyed some food and drinks, and watched the city light up along the river. A simple way to experience Prague at night and enjoy a little of its local jazz culture.

Day 2: July 4, 2026
Prague Castle 🏰, centuries of history, beautiful views, and a little food adventure! Finished with a local beer and chicken schnitzel because sightseeing works up an appetite.✨

Visited the Franz Kafka Museum in Prague and found myself thinking back to Advanced Placement English class in high school, where I first read The Metamorphosis. It was meaningful to revisit Kafka’s work and reflect on its themes of identity, change, and the human experience. Being in Prague and picking up the same book again felt like a quiet full circle moment.

Thank you, Prague, for having me. I felt right at home, even if just for a little while! ☺️
